	The Simply Smarter story started when our founder and Managing Director, Sam Thompson, relocated to Edinburgh after a number of years down South. Wanting to join a golf club in Edinburgh, Sam found it nigh on impossible to find out which clubs, if any, had memberships available. Wanting to keep playing, he tried the ‘Gents Opens’ circuit, but again ran into problems in accessing accurate information, and he also found the drawn out and cumbersome process of entering competitions a de-motivator. As an IT Professional and Engineer, Sam took a radical approach of designing “The Ideal Dynamic Solution,” then engineering the technology to deliver! The goal was to empower Golf Clubs by allowing them to promote, control and manage what they sell: GOLF. Sam also recognized the need to add real business value to Golf Clubs, Golfers and Driving ranges and after 3 years in development, Golf Central was born. The site uses a deceptively simple, radius-based search function, to provide club listings according to selected criteria, allowing fast and accurate, point and find functionality, for all amateur opens, membership opportunities, society packages and discount golf vouchers - and a whole lot more! It takes the Golf Clubs less than 5 minutes to update their offerings. The future of information services for amateur golfers has arrived.
